(BFR) About Body Fat Rate:
- Body fat rate refers to the proportion of body fat mass in total body weight, also known as body fat percentage. It reflects how much fat is in the body.
- A certain amount of fat is important for health. Fat stores energy and serves as the main energy reserve and release mechanism when energy intake or expenditure is unbalanced.
- There are various algorithms for body fat rate. This tool uses the common BMI-based formula. Results are for reference only.
- BMI: weight (kg) / (height (m) × height (m)).
- Body Fat Rate: 1.2 × BMI + 0.23 × age - 5.4 - 10.8 × gender (male=1, female=0)
