About Blood Alcohol Content:
- 1. Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) refers to the concentration of alcohol in the blood, commonly used to determine if a person has consumed alcohol and to what extent.
- 2. BAC is usually expressed as a percentage (%), indicating the amount of alcohol in 100 ml of blood (measured in ml).
- 3. Common BAC levels and their corresponding states:
- (1) 0.02%–0.05%: Mild relaxation and euphoria, attention may begin to decrease.
- (2) 0.05%–0.10%: Judgment and coordination begin to decline, reaction time slows.
- (3) 0.10%–0.20%: Signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, unsteady gait, delayed reactions.
- (4) 0.20%–0.30%: Severe motor impairment, possible vomiting, confusion.
- (5) 0.30%–0.40%: Life-threatening, possible coma and respiratory depression.
- (6) Above 0.40%: May be fatal.
- 4. Note: Legal BAC limits for driving vary by country, commonly around 0.08%. In China, the limit is 0.02%; exceeding this is considered drunk driving.
